Thunderbird v2.0.0.6 deleting junk emails problem

I've just upgraded to the latest Thunderbird (v2.0.0.6). Previously if I marked an email in the inbox as junk it automatically moved it to the junk folder but since updating I have to mark it and then delete it to get it out of the inbox. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get it back to how it used to be?

Click on Tools then "Delete mail marked as Junk".
Wish I knew how to stop them...I keep getting e-cards when I never used to.

    Hope that did it,
    Duncan

if the ecards are from the same address or the same domain. u can tell TB to delete them off the POP3 server so they dont actually come down to ur mail box.

Thanks - yes that saves a few clicks! Is there any way to make that automatic as it was before? Previously it got shot of them just by marking as junk.

    Hi Richyrich,
Unfortunately these e-cards are always from different people and different companies...they are even from different "Friends".."Mates".."Family" etc.

    Very clever really!

    tools/account settings/ local folders(junk settings),
have a look and check to see what box(es) are ticked, they may have reverted to the default (non- ticked) after the update.
    Move along, nothing to see.

Yep, Thats what I have been doing and its been about a couple of weeks but I'll just have to plod on.
This is spreading I also get them at work and I've spoken to some others who have been getting them too.
It's changing I think, because I'm also now getting mails saying I've joined various clubs like poker, beer and dating......(maybe it is someone that knows me,I wish!!!).
