are they in education and is there a court order in place?2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000

No court order. They're hoping to get in college. Can you enrol from Christmas?
Csa stopped at 16 but now they are no longer living with nrp.0 -
over 18, not in approved education = No Maintenance.0

Corf999 they are wanting to now go to college. They've moved towns and now no longer living with the pwc (I didn't mean nrp) to live with another family member. Can the family member now claim child benefit and therefore child maintenance?
Child maintenance stopped in 2013. The child was in college and csa just said the child doesn't qualify. We've no idea why. They were doing a foundation course at the time. Is this a course that qualifies normally?
Could the reason csa stopped last time be because child's stepfather was earning more that £60k+ a year??0 -
If the child returns to a qualifying course before their 19th birthday, their fees are covered. The other family member could claim Child Benefit and claim CMS from both parents.
Child Benefit is paid until the child is 20 years old as long as they are on a qualifying course, at which point both CB and CMS cease. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Which courses are qualifying and which aren't?0

I suppose it depends what they end up doing at college now as they've packed in their studies and moved towns.
Does anyone know if the step dads salary of £60k+ a year would effect child benefit for the child? I thought it would go on the dads (nrp) and mums salary. We're trying to work out why csa stopped. They were on a foundation course so it looks like that qualifies.
So stressful!0 -
Would a step dad (parent with cares husband) salary influence child benefit for step child?0

It doesn't seem fair that the step dads salary effects child benefit for a step child.
As child benefit stopped because of step dads salary, would that be why csa stopped?0
