'It's On Us'. Lloyds offering 30% Cashback (What does this mean?)

Hello all,
Lloyds are offering 30% cashback on purchases from certain online retailers (not cashback sites). Could anyone tell me what this actually means?
If I purchase an item from one of these retailers, will I receive 30% of the value of the item in cash (free money?) OR just the option of adding 30% cashback to the value of the purchase (in the same way anyone would get cashback using a debit card on the high street)?
Thanks in advance
Christian.

Even if they did offer 30%, you'd only have a hope to may be get an offer if you actually use your Lloyds card(s) to make purchases. I have been registered forever and never got any offer. But I also never use my Lloyds debit card.0

I find six out of ten times they offer me cash back at places I live miles away from or have no need to shop at.
But I have had offers for places like Sainsbury's, Morrison's and Toby Carvery.
So far I've earned nearly £27.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Well that is the entire objective of such "offer" everywhere.
To encourage you to use something (lloyds CC/Deb cards) and in return get offers which are of no use to most people or are difficult to redeem so it does not cost the promoting company much to honour them.
Every now and then a company gets it wrong and produces a promotion which is actually very good value for everyone. They get submerged with takeups and end up loosing their shirt big time on the whole disaster which later becomes a case study on MBA courses on how not to run a promo'.
Edit:
The Hoover free flights promo fiasco being one of the best - or worst that is depending on whether you were a customer or were the company, who lost £50m on the worst marketing offer promotion disaster ever.0 -
I always have 5-10 offers but never anything interesting.0

Last year I got £450 back on a car deposit with the its on us. Suffice to say I was very chuft! :j0

Have never got an 'it's on us' although use Lloyds credit card often.
The cashback is ok so long as you actually intend to make a purchase from the establishment concerned in the first place. But 30% ..... maybe there is an isolated 30% offer there somewhere but I don't have it. Currently have 17 cashback offers all at 5, 10, 15 or 20% plus 'it's on us'. Of the 17 offers there are 3 which I may possibly use but the others are not in line with my normal use of the card. Have earned about £23 cashback with this since offers were first introduced. Can't remember how long ago that was.0 -
I was asking on behalf of someone else and I misunderstood the offer. My apologies.
It seems the offer is 10% cashback or upto £30. If this applies to clothing retailers, it could be quite feasible. However, I'm still interested to find an answer to my opening question:
If I purchase an item from one of these retailers, will I receive 10%/£30 of the value of the item in cash (free money?) OR just the option of adding 10%/£30 cashback to the value of the purchase (in the same way anyone would get cashback using a debit card on the high street)?0
