I had an MBNA credit card a few years ago on which I paid PPI and never used. Am I able to claim in back? If so, how do I go about it properly and efficiently?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Do you mean you never used the card or you never used the PPI (ie never made a claim for ill-health or redundancy), if the former you would not have paid PPI, if the latter then not claiming on an insurance policy is not a complaint reason.0

I never used the PPI. I did use the credit card.0

You tell us.
When they ring you and ask why you think you're entitled to money back, what are you going to say?0 -
I don't know. That's why I'm asking here for advice. Otherwise I wouldn't be asking, would I?
Could I claim it has been mis-sold perhaps?0 -
Okay so why do you believe you shouldn't have had PPI.
Strangers on the internet who know nothing about your financial circumstances aren't going to be able to tell you this I'm afraid.0 -

On what grounds? Missold pretty much means you were misinformed about the product and what it does, or wrongly advised to take a product that was not suitable for you. So were you?
I don't mean to sound facetious, but as per the previous post, nobody in this forum was there or knows what happened. So without knowing what your grounds for complaint would be, it is impossible to advise any further.0 -

You can claim what you like, depends on what evidence you have as to whether the complaint sticks. Having PPI is not a miss-sale, not using it is not a miss-sale. You need to advise why you think it was miss-sold not ask people for advice on what to say to try and win the caseSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Generally speaking, there is nothing wrong with having PPI. So just because you happen to have taken a policy, it doesn't mean that there was anything wrong with it.
However, if you have concerns about a policy, there are some things to think about before making a complaint. They all relate to the time you took the policy out.
Think about things such as your age, your employment circumstances, any ways you had to make your card repayments if things went wrong (like sick pay), any health problems you might have had.
People here won't really be able to tell you much in terms of whether the policy was mis-sold to you. It all depends on your circumstances and the specifics of your policy.0
