Is there any legs in a claim

Hi guys,
Just thought I would throw this out there.
In 2007 I moved into a new home with my wife, got a mortgage with the Abbey National who then became Santander
Divorced my wife, eventually and in 2010 my now fianc! moved in and we went down the process of buying the out the ex-share.
The Santander took around 9 months of saying we couldn't afford the mortgage, that I was paying on my own, to 'We simply can not just change names and has to be a complete new mortgage' etc.
Eventually it actually came to a change of name and the mortgage was in my name and my fianc!, with the ex being removed. Simple
So, the question is, would there be a claim for insurance in this and if so, how do I go about recovering the monies.
Sorry for the long story, It was to keep you interested :-)

What insurance did you have, other than asking "can you claim for insurance" you don't actually mention being sold any insurance policies0

Any "change of name" would be assessed on the income of the new borrowers. I'm not sure what insurance you are referring to, I can't see that any would be relevant here?0

Not sure of any insurance. How do I find out if I have been sold any ?
The background re change of name, was simply to put you in the picture as how long it has been running. The point I was making was that the Santander said they didn't even do such a thing. For months they said that, and one day when I contacted them, they simply said 'Oh its just a change of name'!0 -

I think your terminology is confusing the issue. Claim is what you do on an insurance policy in the event of a claimable event. You mention claiming on an insurance policy but dont actually say what type of insurance policy that is. (not that there would be an insurance policy that covers such a thing)
It appears you want to make a complaint. Not a claim.
It doesnt appear to be just a change of name. It appears to be a change of borrower. Normally with the removal of a borrower, there is an assessment made on whether the new borrowers can afford the mortgage or not. Initially it appears they didnt think you could but with your partner added, it appears they now do.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). No, I don't want to make a complaint.
I understand that ppi was sold as part of mortgages ? Or am I completely wrong about this?0 -

Can someone tell me how I find out if I had ever paid PPI on this account please.0

Look at your bank statements, look at your mortgage statements, ask the lender, ask the broker (if you used one), look at your original paperwork from when you took the mortgage, look at your on line mortgage account.
NB Mortgage PPI was/is nearly always paid by a separate Direct Debit and not bundled in with the mortgage payment as it was with personal loans0 -

One of the reasons most MPPI complaints fail is that they were not typically packaged with the mortgage but standalone as a separate direct debit.
However, what does PPI have to do with your first post?
Its very difficult to understand what you are after here.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
