Tosh laptop power issue

I have a 3 and half year old tosh laptop.

And there seems to to be an intermittent issue with the power.

I was happily using my laptop when it told me battery power was low. Strange as it was on mains. I checked to make sure that nothing had come unplugged it had not but still not getting any charge.

Thought maybe it was fuse so messed around with a lower amp fuse I had no such luck. So put the 5a back in and plugged it in and it started to charge.

Next morning same thing would not charge so got a brand new pack of fuses. And it seemed to be ok for the last couple of days.

Now I have brought the laptop down stairs and plugged it back in and not it wont charge.

I have checked all the connections are plugged in correctly. And they are and have even just changed sockets and its not charging now.

I guess I need a new power cord?

Does it work without the battery?

It could also be the low voltage end jack plug, socket or cable. You may have unwittingly moved them around while changing fuses. When it's not charging, gently wiggle the low voltage end plug and see if the charging light comes on and off.

It was doing this before I changed I fuse. So not sure that I have done anything to it.

have another from the transformer to the plug end from another product and just put the 5A fuse in the plug and now it's charging.

But it did the same the other day and when I went back to the original cable it was ok.

    Bizarre
