Calling out Coventry Building Society
I just wanted to post some good news and a thank you to Coventry BS as its very rare we as consumers say thank you for good service
I split up from my ex wife six years ago and I remained in the marital home. Due to a large number of unsecure debts I entered an IVA of which I finished it early last April with a Full and Final. It was due to finish next October and as such is showing on my credit file as satisfied (the associated debts are still showing in default on the system until the six year drop off point)
The mortgage was still in both names so I contacted the Coventry and despite the computer saying no they built an internal special case for the underwriters to ask for me to become sole owner of the mortgage. Anyway due to the hard work of the Case Worker at The Coventry the underwriters agreed to move the mortgage into my name only and they even allowed me to move onto a new 5 year fixed deal at 3%
This means I now own the house on my own and the deeds have been updated at the land registry to show this. It means if my ex gets any CCJ's she no longer has an interest at all in the property so her debts cannot be assigned to what is now my property. Luckily my ex was happy for all this to happen and signed the land registry forms
So thank you to my ex wife and thank you to the wonderful team at the Coventry!! Its a nice feeling to know my house is now securely mine (as long as I pay the mortgage) !!
My next plan is to overpay by 10% each year and clear my mortgage within 5 years!
