Hello, does it make any difference appealing if you've used the car park but not shopped at Lidl? I'm looking at appealing on compassionate grounds

You can try 'compassion' with Lidl, but not with the PPC - it won't work with them.

But the hierarchy has changed at Lidl and the almost guaranteed cancellation by Ronny G has gone with him.

New MD is Christian Haertnagel. Use either of these two email addresses:

christian.haertnagel@lidl.com
christian.haertnagel@lidl.co.uk

But you need to include some evidence that you are a regular shopper with Lidl to push the right buttons to support your compassionate grounds in your appeal.

Any more questions on this should be via a new thread of your own. This one belongs to someone else and is well over 12 months old. Things change (like their new MD!).

I received a parking charge for parking 38 minutes over the alloted 90 minutes. I sent an email to Dispute.Resolution@lidl.co.uk and in one hour had a reply saying they would tell Athena to cancel the charge. The was at Lidl Royton where Lidl are also the land owner.

The emails I sent and the response are as follows:

27/09/2018 @ 09.00

To: Dispute.Resolution@lidl.co.uk

Dear Mr Christian Härtnagel,

RE: Athena Parking Charge Notice: * *** *** ***

I have just received a Civil Parking Charge Notice for parking at LIDL Royton for 1 hour, 48 minutes. As you are both the landowner and the retail owner, I ask that you cancel this charge due to it being unfair, discriminatory and excessive as the car was was not full and therefore no losses were incurred.

We travelled to your store from the Chadderton branch to buy a women's jacket which was part of your 'Special Deals' promotion. The Chadderton branch had not received their stock so we were told to go to the Royton branch. The was a major inconvenience but we have experienced this poor management of the Chadderton store previously.

In the car we had an elderly friend who rarely leaves her house and we were taking her out for this shopping trip which she enjoyed very much. Due to her age and illnesses, she moves very slowly with her walking frame. We spent quite sometime at your store in Royton as it is the biggest Lidl we have ever seen and had items we had not seen in Chadderton. Even after using the check out, we returned to browse the clothes and fresh food items.

As we try and help our friend quite often, we clearly can't afford to shop at your Royton store any more due to the parking costs, but in this instance I ask that you get Athena ANPR Ltd to cancel the notice (Parking Charge Notice: * *** *** ***).

I have attached a photo of the Notice and also of my credit card statement which shows the shopping we did at Royton (sorry I cannot locate the receipt itself). Please also note the amount of shopping we do at your stores round were we live. We are frequent LIDL shoppers and use more than one store. I trust you can sympathise with a dedicated LIDL customer

Your. help in this matter is appreciated.

Yours faithfully

Dear Mr .....

Re: Parking Charge
Thank you for your email addressed to our CEO. I have been asked to respond to you on his behalf.
As you are probably aware, Lidl UK GmbH is a national retailer. As such, we have stores in locations with limited parking space and in common with many of our competitors, our store car parks are abused to a significant and detrimental extent. We have therefore judged it necessary to take measures so that our stores parking facilities are available first and foremost to our customers.
In order to ensure that sufficient parking spaces are available at all times to our customers, Lidl employs third party contractors to monitor and control our car parks. So far, this service has proved reliable and effective in reducing car park abuse and in freeing up spaces for our customers.
In light of your comments, I have contacted the Car Park Management Company and have requested that this charge be cancelled. Your comments regarding our parking restrictions have been noted and passed to the relevant department for their information.
Thank you again for contacting us.
Yours sincerely,
For and on behalf of Lidl UK GmbH

Good to hear :T

Readers must understand that this is a copy and paste
reply from Lidl

They still allow the parking scammers, Athena, to attack
their own customers on the pretence of abuse

What will be abuse to themselves is when customers
go to the new Tesco's "JACKS" because they are cheaper

Even Lidl do not understand the damage Athena do to them

As they say ... "tough titty, it's my money to spend
where I want" LIDL NEED TO WAKE UP, their copy
and paste letters are just a joke

TIP TO LIDL ....

How to increase sales and profits in one single step ....

GET RID OF YOUR PARKING SCAMMERS
• Hi

I have received similar reply regarding cancellation of parking charge. So I’m wondering was your charge cancelled? And did you do anything more ie emailing them?
Did you receive a letter from Athena as her email doesn’t mention Athena writing back to me about this cancellation. I don’t want them to keep harassing me.

The charge got cancelled but it still appears on Athena website. So how long it will take to be removed?

Dear.....
