Timer switches on soft button appliances

Good morning, I am new here and hope you can help me. Recently we bought two Dyson fans which we wanted to put on timer switches sothat they can operate while we are away. However, little did we know that with soft button on/off switches, timers do not work. Only on the old fashioned fans with push buttons, they work. What can I do to solve this problem? The Dyson fans do have an inbuilt timer, but that is only to switch if off after some time, not to switch it on when it is off. Thanks in advance, Gabrienna

  • This is probably going to be a silly question...
Why would you a timer for fans, at the start of winter??
  • You can't, without difficult and possibly expensive modifications to the appliances and the timers.

Replace with fans with their own suitable timers, or with fans that don't have soft button controls.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
