Minster baywatch Reel port Talbot

Options
Good evening all,
Last may through the post I received a parching charge after I attended the cinema in port talbot.
Since they have bumped up my charge to £155.
I appealed to Minster baywatch and popla and both have been rejected.
I have evidence that I attended the cinema but to no avail.
I'm being sent dept collector letters now.
What do I do now?!?
I appreciate all advice.

Read post 4 of the NEWBIES thread. It tells you why it is safe to ignore debt collectors. They have no powers and can do nothing except send you bog roll with meaningless scribble on it.
I married my cousin. I had to...

Debt collectors are useless scum and will only threaten you, they will eventually give up with their stupid scamming letters.

What ever you do do not pay them anything!

Your Popla appeal must have been really poor to fail what ever did you put in it?
It should have been based on the legalities of the PPC process not "I was a customer etc"!

You are in ignore mode now unless you get real court papers which should not be ignored.

What happened when you complained to the cinema?

If your PoPLA appeal has been rejected it is probably because you did not use legal arguments. If they take you to court you can mount proper legal reasons why you do not owe the money and will probably win as these firms operate on the very margins of the law.

Ignore everything from now on except court papers.

...or a letter headed Letter Before County Court Claim / Letter Before Action - or similar wording. Such letters are rarely compliant themselves and are better responded to than ignored.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com
  • Thank you all for your advice.
Reel Cinema are not very helpful to be truthful. I thought i made a good Popla appeal, but as you said i worded it as a customer and not as legal jargon.
Is there anyone i can turn to help if it comes to court?
Have Minster Baywatch taken people ego court and won?

Very rarely in the past but they are think ex clampers so even post Beavis it 'could' be defendable as long as not finding a Judge who just says 'parking case? never mind the defence or facts ... 'Beavis v ParkingEye, strike out the defence!'.

That would be bad luck. Come back here if you need assistance but you sooooo missed a trick by managing to LOSE against them at POPLA - very hard to achieve, you must have written about the story of what happened.

Awful appeal research (sorry - hindsight is a wonderful thing). We would have won that POPLA appeal hands down for you.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • At the time i thought i was doing the correct thing. I was only telling the truth.
Only since i have been researching that i realise how to do it properly.
    Il'l keep you posted.
Hindsight is such a wonderful thing!

    Regards
