Card limit of £2000 purchase of £2500 coming up

Hey everyone
My card only has a limit of £2500 but booking a holiday of roughly £2500 how can I do it so I am only £2000 in debt on my card? Would I make the purchase first and then add the extra £500? Or would I overpay the card while I pay the original outstanding debt too?

All inclusive so there's no way to split up the payments.0

Might not be possible to make a purchase of a larger size than your limit.0

Explain it to your credit card provider first?

Some providers don't like cards in credit or transactions over the card limit- speak to them - they may offer a limit increaseAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0

Pay the travel agent £2,000 using the CC and the rest on debit card.
You can use several cards to pay. Travel agents understand people don't always have enough limit on one card.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

You won't be able to pay for a transaction that takes you above your limit - it will probably get refused. As long as the cost is less than your limit, it will be OK, but many travel agents charge for accepting credit cards - often about 2% - are you aware of this and have you factored it into your budget?0
