Website biz - how to market it - content?

Hi all

I am looking to starting a website based business with a friend and we are researching the best way to market it.

We are wondering what content it requires (videos? Blogs? Etc) for it to get the best rankings.

It isnt a comparison website but is similar.

Any advice gratefully recieved.

You might as well tell us what it is, there will already be websites offering what you are planning.

Otherwise, it's not ideal to say what is and isn't going to be a good use of your time for trying to generate traffic that will make you money.

SEO is of course, important and difficult for most people. If you can get your site ranking on google you'll make money provided what you are offering is what people want.

The content it requires, to get the best rankings, is the content that is most relevant to the search terms that you want it to rank highly for.

ie, is it a website about chickens ? then you want lots and lots of chickens content, pictures, discussions, videos, and links to your site, from other sites that are deemed to be important about chickens.
