I haven't seen this mentioned but on the website it says this is running from 5 - 20th December 2015. If you spend £10 or over in one transaction at specified independent retailers and pay with your Amex card you get a statement credit of £5.
I love this, I always stock up on nice birthday cards for the coming year. It usually includes a posh shoe shop in our town but you don't have to buy shoes - I get the waterproofing spray cans as they are quite expensive or insoles and boot laces. Sometimes you have to be a bit creative to get the benefit but obviously not buying things just for the sake of it.
It's always worked really well for me, credits are on very quickly and it does get you to try shops that you haven't been in before.

anyone know much about pre paid cards that can be topped up with amex in onestops?? could this work with shopsmall?

Unfortunately American Express pre-paid cards are excluded from the Shop Small promotion.
