Faulty shower after 24hrs

Hello all,

We had an electric shower fitted Friday afternoon, by Saturday evening the shower had a constant leak.

Sunday morning we called out the emergency plumber of the company that fitted the shower. He stated that the unit was faulty.

The advice I need is:

1)Should we we be charged for the emergency plumber?

2) Can we refuse a repair and insist on a replacement.

Any advice that can be offered will be greatly appreciated.

    Who supplied the shower?

If it was the plumber, then they should fix the problem without charge to you.

If you bought the shower somewhere else and just passed it to the plumber to fit, then you should expect to pay for the emergency plumber and seek to reclaim that money from your supplier.
  • Thanks for the quick response.

The fitting, supply of the shower and emergency plumber are all from the same local company.

Are they unhappy you called the emergency number?
  • Not sure yet, will find out tomorrow. I just wanted to preempt any unhappiness with some knowledge from advice.

Thanks for asking. What do you think?
