Want to reduce APR

I have a barclayscard purchase platinum with a credit limit of £12500. Annual and representative APR are both 29.9%. I'm still on the 0% interest promotion offer because I always pay the statements in full.

I was given the 29.9% due to it being my first credit card, and increased the credit limited every 6 months. Used this credit card for nearly 3 years now.

Do you think barclays will reduce my APR if I ask?

Comments

  • Possibly, as it's Barclays.

Howver, if you're paying in full, it doesn't matter.

Up to ~55 days 0% interest on purchases if paid in full is a regular feature, not a promotion.

But I should still try to get a lower APR if I want a decent mortgage deal in the next couple of years?

Why? If your credit history shows that you manage your CC properly the interest rate (that you never pay) might not be taken into account at all.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
  • The interest rate on your credit card will have no bearing on your mortgage application.
The amount of debt you have when you apply will - it won't matter how much interest is charged.
