reclaim old ppi that had, needed and never used

Hi all

I'm about to embark on my first ppi journey! I'm pretty sure I had ppi on a loan thru Tesco from rbs many years ago. I was not told about it but actually my circumstances changed and I struggled to make payments ending in a very nasty ccj. I think these ppi payments could have stopped me falling into trouble had anyone had advised that they were there.has this happened to anyone else? And how do people think I should approach it? I'm assuming I go to rbs not Tesco ?

Many thanks for your help as always .

It would be better to find out if you had PPI first. Otherwise any information is just speculation.
