Decent tablet .. just for web browsing

Our daughter owned an iPad which my wife liked to use to browse t'internet, but out daughter has now moved to her own flat.

Shock ! Horror .. The iPad went too.

Now my wife wants me to buy her a replacement, but I am thinking .. does she really want another iPad, of just some form of tablet.

It's really only for web browsing, so what are the best options please.

If the iPad is really so much better, then I don't mind buying that for her, but just thought I would ask her before diving in.

It's onl;y for home use and we have wi-fi here already.

Depends how used to other operating systems your wife is. If she's only ever used the iPad (which runs iOS) then changing to an Android device can be quite a big leap, and something I see many people struggle with.

Just for browsing the internet! The Amazon fire is ideal, learning a new operating system is not difficult, cost is a big influence also. Checkout Asus tablets dearer but good.
