Hi
I have a 2yo iMac which was running OSX Yosemitie and VM warefusion to run windows too.
I have recently updated to OSX El Capitan and as a result VM ware won't work so can't open windows.
VM ware is version 6 and I think I need a higher version of VM ware to be to have window OS work. Can anyone confirm this is right? Also if there's a free upgrade (which I suspect there isn't). Also assuming that's what is needed, if I do upgrade VM ware will the previously installed windows work from within the new VM ware?

Best bet would be to ask on VMware's own forums regarding the technical ins and outs. The upgrade from Fusion 6 to Fusion 8 is €49.70 inc VAT.

The extortionate upgrade prices are why I changed to VirtualBox last year. I had to upgrade it to use it on El Capitan but upgrading was quick and easy, and despite being free, VB works well enough for my needs.0
