Maybe its me and i please easily and giggle at anything?
I received a letter today from EDF
Dear Mr ...
it's time to declutter with electronic communications
You can choose electronic communication in MyAccount and you'll receive fewer envelopes to open and less paperwork cluttering your home.
Why send a letter to say this and not an email? They have my details and i cannot log in because it says i dont have an account and when i try to sign up it says i already have an account.
The account was setup when EDF were linked to Sainsbury's.
EDF do email me so they have my contact details, i just thought it was funny they sent a letter with a couple of pages telling me they want to cut down on the number of envelopes that i receive, I only receive the 4 bills a year and i can cope with that, the junk mail they send far outweighs that, maybe they need to stop sending the junk mail?

There are people in this world who are still clueless when it comes to e-mail. I suspect that mailing is still the 'universal' method of contacting people (for the next 20-30 years at least) and they are probably just trying to voluntarily shift as many people onto e-mail as possible.
I imagine that, in the long run, they will significantly reduce their paper usage by doing this. Your 4 bills each year soon add up to 40-80 bills in a 10-20 year gap. I also imagine that, in 20-30 years, many people will welcome a shift to email and there will be less need for paper bills in the future.
Your login issues are better directed to EDF customer support.0 -
EON are the same - sometimes they'll e-mail me, sometimes they'll send a letter. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I like Good Energy's approach. They send my bills as a pdf attached to an email so there is no need to log in.0

They send me far more junk mail than they send bills and they do have my email address, I do get the odd reminder email to read my meter just before the bill is due.
Flashback to a call from Vodafone recently offering to save me money, quite odd that saving me money somehow coincided with me taking out a contract for a dongle or tablet or several things that would cost me more than i pay now.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
