I used to go to specsavers every two years, my prescription is for basic short sighted. I bought the £39 frames which included basic lenses. I also had the same pair but as sunglasses for driving.

I have to say I was perfectly happy with this.

Then for convenience of appointment times and parking I chose my local Tesco. I have been there three times now (two yearly appointment).

Appointment slots you can book online. Evenings and Saturdays.
You can't see an optician on Sundays but you can collect your glasses then. Or any other day, obviously.
Free eye tests, at that time and every time, come to think of it.
Basic frames - perfectly okay just no designer name on the side ;) £15.00

I understand that because my prescription isn't complicated, then the lenses are included.

My recent eye test really couldn't have included more. Reading the letter board. Puffer for glaucoma. Then a test for field of vision, I assume, where you had to click on a screen when you saw a flash.

To say 'You will get used to it' is to me bad advice from any Optician.

Like all things in life, any optician can do a job badly.

You only have one set of eyes and yes you can damage them if you are consistently struggling to use badly aligned glasses. Also miss-aligned glasses can give you a big headache, quite literally.

That feeling of it feeling not quite right could be something they have missed or misread.

I used to use a small optician chain.

One year the guy badly misread my test and I was given a proscription which made my right eye go out of focus at 6 feet!

I found another local optician who gave me a full eye test and full test for field of vision.

I was there for 2 hours but the way the new optician treated me and looked at all areas, allied my concerns, made a customer since that day.

Thing to note. If you think your eyes have not been tested correctly, you can get them retested within the 1 year limit, telling the optician why you think there is a problem. But you will have to pay for the test. If you are going back to the same optician they may redo for free.
