New car insurance discount - Tesco Drive + Reward App

I have just discovered a new way to get a discount off a new car insurance policy. Tesco have created an app which rates your driving. You just drive for 250 miles with the app running and it gives you a score. If you get a good score then you can get 20% off a new Tesco policy. Tesco claim that 10% of drivers aged over 25 will get the maximum discount. I'm downloading it myself and I'll post my score here when I've completed my 250 miles.

Well it took me a while as I don't drive a lot, but my score after 250 miles was 7.7 which has earned me 13% off a Tesco car insurance policy. To be honest I was hoping for a bit more of a discount as I thought my driving was pretty good. I'll just have to see whether the 13% discount makes a Tesco premium low enough to be worth switching, although my renewal isn't until October.

Incidentally the app has also provided me with a few other vouchers such as a free tea or coffee at a Tesco Cafe, and a premium car wash for £2.50.
