I still do my kids a stocking as they were made by my mum when they were babies so very much a sentimental tradition. My son is now 18, daughter 16. Now they are older the general content each is

Socks
Stationary bits for college
Tube of their favourite sweets
Chocolate coins
Daughter - nail varnish, lush bath bomb, £5 Costa gift card
Son - shower gel, bottle of beer, £5 Greggs gift card
I intend to use the Tesco double up clubcard deal for the DVD, CD, socks as I agree that it's better to put things in that will get used. I actually really enjoy doing their stockings, brings back so many memories0 -
