Wide window blinds

I've been struggling with finding anything for a sensible price. Our windows are 220cm wide, and I would like a roller blind or similar for the kitchen, plus vertical or venetian type blinds for the front, which anyone walking down the road can currently look straight into while the curtains are open.
Any advise on places that offer this width of blind for a reasonable price? I've found some 'made to measure' places that will go that wide, but the prices are in multiple hundreds of pounds, and we simply don't have that much to spare.
Any ideas please?

We have roller blinds throughout the house that we bought from Hillarys over a period of 18- 8 years ago - they are reasonable quality for the price. One needs replacing and have had Hillarys round again - this time I found them expensive - £125 for a small window. We then got a price from a local firm - £87 - with fitting £15 - she told us though to place the order around December 14 when the sale will have started and it will be further discounted (this firm has a good reputation and has been going for years).
John Lewis also had a good range of blinds that were reasonable.
We will be going with the local firm.0 -
Have a look on ebay ...there are some firms who offer quite competitive prices for larger blinds and as long as you are confident about supplying the correct measurements and can fit yourselves then they can be quite good value.
failing that look for a local blind company...
we got a quote from Hilarys when a sale was on and then haggled with the local company to better it....2 very large windows(sorry I dont have the sizes to hand but similar to double french doors) and 2 very small but long windows came in at £300 fully fitted.
most large towns have one or maybe even 2 blind companies but when you look into it most companies use the same factory for manufacture(located somewhere up north) so they all become quite competitive when trying to supply the customer
Our blinds were fitted in April.
Edited to add...not sure if you have an ikea close, but when we looked for ours friends recommended them for quality and price although we didnt look into sizes as we are not near an outletfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I recently bought 7 white aluminium venetian blinds for my house and also have some very wide windows. After much research I used My Home Store, they have a website www.blindsbypost.co.uk and also sell on eBay. They are made to your own measurements so no trimming needed, the quality was excellent and delivery took about a week.
The total cost was just over £200, I was very impressed with the service and am very happy to recommend them. They also offered me a small discount 5% and free delivery0 -
I bought some off ebay some years ago. 12 of them. 6 to be fitted to two 6' drop bay windows + lots of other windows of various sizes + the kitchen window which was over 2m wide.
I paid about £120 for the (white, PVC) blinds (in total, not each) and get a local handyman to fit them all. He was good and did a good job (none ever felt dodgy or loose) and he took precisely one hour to fit the lot. I was unwrapping the packages and handing them to him.
So, source cheaply and hire a handyman to do an hour's work.0 -
We priced some blinds for a very small bathroom window. Wanted to try to use a local firm. Quoted £90+ for the most basic venetian blind. Ordered in the end from blinds2go and fitted them really easily in no time. Cost about £20 inc delivery which was within about a week. Will be using them again.
Priced up a vertical blind for our large lounge window. 220cm x 140cm drop. Cost is just over £50 inc P&P.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D
