Shared Ownership, is it possible for people like us?

That's all very well and good, but you don't have any kind of right to live in an area you can't afford. Children can - and frequently do - change school.
Thanks for that wonderful answer.
I don't know why I'm bothering to explain myself to you.
As you can see from my answers above, we are looking to move to a cheaper area for this reason. We have only lived in dorset for 4 yrs and for reasons I cannot be bothered to explain to you, he ended up in Hampshire school.
If you can't be polite, please go and annoy someone else!0 -
I think you miss my point.0

I don't really care what point you were trying to make. You were incredibly rude.
My thread is nothing to do with where I live now.0 -
One thing to think about... If your household income is low, can you afford the property maintenance that would become your responsibility under shared ownership?
While a consideration, depending on circumstances, this is more manageable than when you have to move house as a renter. The LL wakes up one morning and decides you're going to have to leave and you spend a fortune with fees moving. For some people this can be every 1-2 years.
At least with maintenance you've a bit of leeway about when some stuff needs to be paid for.... and when you spend that money you don't see it as "throwing good money away" like letting agent fees.0
