Low Energy users Beware! OVO misleading Nation Cheapest Energy Claim..
Options
Had a leaflet through the post and was tempted to check whether its true.
Had a quote from Ebico on low usage i.e
Annual energy costs £753.00
Gas annual estimate £416.00
Unit rate: 5.20p per kWh
Standing charge: 0p
Electricity annual estimate £337.00
Unit rate: 16.85p per kWh
Standing charge: 0p
the same quote would cost from OVO
Annual energy costs £777.32
Gas annual estimate £407.52
Unit rate: 3.65p per kWh
Standing charge: 31.65p
Electricity annual estimate £369.80
Unit rate: 12.19p per kWh
Standing charge: 34.52p
That is a difference of £24.32 but OVO won't tell you that it just says you pay £15 per week
I do agree if you are medium to heavey user then it is cheaper than Ebico but I do not think they should mislead the Nation of low users!:money:

What are you on about?
"Ebico - nation's most expensive supplier"
would be valid for 97% * of households.
Even at your example usage there are seventy-odd cheaper tariffs (including several of Ovo's).
(* yes that was just pulled out of my proverbial.)
And I would not call 2,000 kWh of electricity a low usage. Nor 8,000 kWh of gas. Did Ebico warn you (and why are you not warning us?) that they are 45% more expensive than other tariffs for that usage? That's more expensive by £20 per month not £25 per year!0 -

if you feel so aggrieved you should complain to the Advertising Standards Authority with appropriate evidence so they can adjudicate0
