disability forum advice

Hello

I am hoping you can recommend some good forums for advice regarding disability issues.
I have disabled twins (prem) when they first had issues I was a member a few groups and forums for new diagnosis and parents (there seems to be a lot in this category) however as things settled and we out grew them.
We are now going through the transition to adult hood, and its a nightmare, I'm in desperate need of support and advice from people who know. I have searched for help but the only place I have had success with is here.
Please recommend any disability forums that you know are actively used to help navigate the minefield of transition and adult services.

Thanks

There are usually specific communities attached with specific diagnoses. You don't mention the nature of the disability in your post, but there are some great ones around based on sole or like groups.

yourable is a good general site, sorry not allowed links yet
  • I would also be interested in any active groups that are around. I have a 17 and 15 year old, both have disability issues. The future is very confusing and there is so much conflicting advice out there.
I am a member of specialkidsintheuk.org which is good but am always on the lookout for more.
  • Thank you I have now joined scope and yourable.
I was looking for help with transition into adult services which I would hope would be the same for everyone.
specialkids costs money to join and as mine are now longer kids I'm not sure how applicable it would be.

Miss Blue, my son is 24 and has has Cerebral Palsy, please feel free to message me if you want to, tbh I felt like once they hit adulthood, nobody is interested.

Now a few years on and after my son living independently for a year, we are getting more help.
