Redesigning downstairs layout

Hi,
I would be grateful if anyone could point me in the direction of who to contact that could give design ideas to help me to reconfigure the downstairs layout of my property.
I live in a four bed mid mews house from the 60's. We have converted the integral garage to a playroom but are really struggling with the long narrow living area and pokey kitchen.
We have thought of selling but our ugly ducking is in a prime location and we have fab neighbours.
I am desperate for a new kitchen but I am reluctant to replace it until I have explored other options.
Thanks for reading

If you want to spend money and need visual help with a drawing and ideas of where furniture will fit, then an interior designer or even an architect.
If you just need to know what is possible, then get a few builders round. They'll all have ideasEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks - I am just frightened that I might miss a trick that could make a huge difference to the layout. I might try to get in touch with an interior designer.0

Have a look at some of the room designer sites and test out how it may look if you do different things.
