Hotel Booking Rip Off

As if financial life isn't bad enough, I booked a hotel room, with Laterooms then had to cancel, I cancelled using the link on the booking email they sent me. When i received my credit card statement they had charged me the full amount, it seems that even though their system told me the booking had been cancelled it hadn't happened & because their system hadn't sent me an email to confirm the cancellation I had not cancelled. I have written to them & await their reply. Any advice??

I didn't know that. I thought anything bought where you're not on the business premises would be covered...
