Ernergy Club pricings don't match the Suppliers site
Options
Just put in all my details and energy usage to the Energy Club pages , and got a Pricing list.
At the same time been on my Npower () account page ( where all the usage numbers came from) and got a link to a quote page , for exactly the same tariff ( Dec 2016) and the numbers are not even remotely close.
The energy club prices per unit are lower as is obviously the total per year.
Wondering why ?? is the Club a special deal or are Npower trying it on ? in the webpage quotation ? despite them both apparently being the same tariff ?

Hi Ceedy1950
I wonder if you've made a slight mistake here and selected the wrong tariff? Npower have a couple of similarly named tariffs (something we've previously flagged to Ofgem), but which have different rates.
For example 'Price Fix' has different prices to 'Online Price Fix' even if the end dates are the same.
If not, or you need help with this, just drop a line through to energyclub@moneysavingexpert.com and we'll see if we can help out.

They should be identical have you entered all fields exactly the same
1) The savings may be different due to different methodologies applied to your current tariff (Personal Projection v’s Quote)
a. But your future tariff quote should be the same
2) External quote sites decide which regions prices you get based on your postcode. This isn’t 100% accurate. Your supplier will be applying your region correctly. This sometimes causes discrepancies
3) The quote needs to be based on Consumption – you need to enter the same kWhs. If you enter monthly /Annual spend or property type i.e. number of bedrooms, you may get different annual results
a. The unit prices should still be the same
4) Are one set of prices inc Vat and one Ex VAT?
As a minimum post up the different prices you are being shown and we should be able to help.
If you can also supply
The prefix for your postcode
The consumption entered
Preferred Payment type
Meter type (standard or EC7)0 -
Also make sure you are not confusing tariff comparison rate (which is labelled as per kWh) and the unit price.0

Both are exactly the sale tariff ,
Just adjusted my figures and the quotes are now only a couple of quids apart.
Now do i save a bit more and jump ship to another supplier .. if there is one worth having ?
as all seem to be having a few dodgy reviews .. esp.. with customer service probs ...
An Area which Npower excel's at NOT supplying :rotfl:

The £90 would be an average across the year, but you'd expect the actual use per month to be higher for the winter.
If someone else had already been with them a while, there would be a bit of build up in advance of the winter, but if you're starting with a zero balance right now, that might explain the higher amount being asked for to start with.
If you've already been there some time and have a decent balance, discuss the direct debit size with them0 -
maybe i'm having a dim moment , but cannot find any address email in your profile ??
have tried to send a reply via the "Contact us" link? maybe that worked ?
also says "nPower company representative has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."

Having done some considerable research I think the answer to this questions lies in the energy companies and the energy web saving sites.
To be brief, they don't appear to compare your current tariff with the competition - they use the standard variable tariff (SVT) which gives an impression of massive savings. If it's any comfort, in my experience, only MSE do a proper job when it comes to comparisons. Your own energy company most likely uses the 'energyhelpline' as the customer service staff don't seem to have access to their own company's tariffs - they have to use the 'energyhelpline'.
I've taken to creating my own spreadsheet in order to obtain accurate comparisons.0
