Hi,
I keep getting calls from 3rd Party Utility pushers stating that I need to switch from the current supplier because of the new ofgem legal requirement (in March 2016 I believe) that all high capacity electricity users will HAVE to go onto a 1/2 hourly rate meter. These Pushers are stating they can delay this happening because they have some energy companies that will swallow these costs and keep up on a single unit charge for anything from a few month to a year, therefore saving the company lots of money !!! of course they say this or what is the point in calling !!!
When calling our current supplier they have said that these 3rd Party Pushers are scaremongering (very much inclined to believe this at the moment) and that as it is going through ofgem it will be a legal requirement to change the meter rates.
I am after some other opinions from people that are not trying to sell me something or keep me as a customer (speaking on behalf of the company I work for).
Our Contract ends mid-April 2016 and I am being told by the pushers that I need to get this locked in now or I will miss out on putting off the 1/2 hourly rate changes. Current Supplier is telling me that their legal team is still working through what the changes will mean to their high capacity business customers.
I really hope I haven't waffled on too much. Thank you for taking the time to read to the end and hopefully reply.
