It varies with different insurance companies. Some ask for everything. Some ask things specific to the condition.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

I suppose they can ask for specific condition, but would the benefit office have the esa questioner on file and just send it off to an insurance company?
I understand they can get your whole medical history.
what about data protection?0 -
They can request a copy of your complete medical notes or ask for information from your GP but you would have to agree and sign for them to request it. I would think it is exactly the same with the DWP.0

do they ever look for complete questioners from dwp?would the gp history not be enough?0

I know that the DVLA medical centre can't access your records until you sign a consent form, so I would assume it would be the same for other organisations.0

I've no idea to be honest if they had doubts with regards to your claim maybe they could.... Phone the DWP they should be able to answer your query.0
