Cheap Energy Club Cashback- will it find my new bank account?!

I'm worried I may have made a bit of an error....

Having a bit of a financial overhaul, and thanks to MSE site have saved a lot of money already.

The trouble is that I am currently in the 3-6 month wait for my cashback from switching my energy via the Cheap Energy Club... But I have also just switched bank accounts to First Direct. First Direct state that any payments to my old account in the first 3 months will be redirected to the new account. But what if my energy cashback takes longer than 3 months to come through? Will I just lose the money?

I think you might have misread the details with switching. Normally payments using your old bank account details would be forwarded for the next 13 months.

That said, if MoneySuperMarket (who issue the cashback) try to make a payment into a bank account and this fails (rather than being forwarded), it'll get notification from the bank and will instead post a cheque to your registered address on Cheap Energy Club.

It doesn't sound like this'd be needed, but hope it helps to reassure you.
