Try some BIN (buy it now) items? Make it clear in description that it is for collection only - cash sale!!I thought it is not possible to do BIN for cash? BIN has to be paid for straight away - or am I wrong? Can someone explain if it is possible and how?
It should be possible to set up a BIN without immediate payment required, but beware as ebay have some trials in place to make all BINs immediate payment.
I can untick the immediate payment required on all my accounts, but they are mainly all years old. It might not be possible in some categories and for some newer sellers.
To check, just look at the advanced selling page when you list, there is a box to tick under the Payment methods and paypal address.
A BIN though is not always a good idea for collection only items as it leAves less wiggle room to negotiate with buyer to pay by cash. As soon as they BIN the item even if it is not immediate payment required it will have a big shiny button saying 'pay now' which defaults to paypal.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Cash on collection is possible on ebay- that isn't what this thread is about- I've done several myself. However the trick is being in a position to negotiate the cash and not make it easier for the buyer to use paypal- which of course they are perfectly able to do.
Have a read of the sticky thread about the problems of cash on collection sales. In particular note that buyers have a right to use paypal and that will show as the default payment method - so it is imperative that sellers have as much control over the sale as possible.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
