Beavis lost yesterday. Today the Bedfordshire police announced that they wish to fine motorists for speeding for being one mile per hour over the speed limit so they can keep 25 jobs. They admitted that this is a revenue decision.
Not even 24 hours have passed and commercial justification has kicked in. Watch out for more examples. Disgusting.

Speeding is an absolute offence ... they already can prosecute for being 1 mph over the limit but choose not to because of the tolerances involved ... they'd need to prove that their detection equipment was accurate enough at the time of detection to prove a 1 mph over speed.0
