Why is the average age of FTB 37 it's a lot more complicated than just house prices.
Indeed - five years ago it was 29!. Another odd statistic that seems difficult to tie in with the 37 yo average is that the number of FTBs is the highest its been for 7 years.
Who are all these 37 year old and older people who must have rented for the past 15+ years and have suddenly decided to start on the housing ladder? Though another quote I saw from June 2015 said that the average FTB age was 31, so it all must have happened in the past 4 months!0
