Viagogo Tickets

Hi All

Apologies if this may have been posted before, I can’t find it on the search and wasn't too sure which forum to post in as this is my first thread !

I wanted to sell some tickets and posted them up on Viagogo as an E ticket instant download. My tickets sold almost straight away and when I looked at the confirmation email I realised that I had accidently put the incorrect date of event.

I looked on Viagogos site and found no email address only a “contact us” box, so I sent them a message through this approx. 5 mins after my tickets sold, I then had a pop up message saying they will respond in 48hrs.
I send a further message every day until 5 days later when they emailed me…Please contact us as soon as possible, and no later than 30/10/2015 to inform us of whether you have the correct tickets, or if we will need to replace the tickets for the buyer. If we do not hear from you by this date, we reserve the right to find replacement tickets for your buyer and to pass on any additional costs incurred.
I replied to say I had sent numerous messages to them telling them this before the 30th Oct and they replied… We are sorry to hear that you are unable to fulfil your order, and we will start trying to find replacement tickets for the buyer. We reserve the right to charge you any additional costs that we may incur, and please also note that you will not be paid for this sale.

Since then I have sent them another 3 messages to ask them if I will be charged anything as I let them know before 30th Oct, what is the process for replacement tickets (if replacement tickets will be found up to the price which the buyer was going to pay or if it’s done by seating equivalent) and how much will I be charged. I have only received general jargon replies from Viagogo. In the meantime tickets for this event are selling out and only the expensive tickets are left.

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with Viagogo, if people think I may be charged for the replacement tickets or any other ideas/comments!

Many Thanks

There are contact numbers for them on saynoto0870.

In this situation it is likely you will be charged the cost of replacement tickets equivalent to those you sold (location, not price). You can still sell yours for the correct date.
  • Thanks.
I can understand that, just not liking the fact that they haven't sorted out the replacement tickets yet, as the cheaper tickets are going leaving more expensive ones that I will have to pay for !

You may too late now, but an alternative would've been for you to buy replacement tickets for the date you sold as soon as you realised your mistake, thus mitigating your loss.

2.9 Seller's Confirmation Obligation. Except as noted in Section 2.9 a), the Seller must confirm the order within forty eight (48) hours of the sale of the tickets. Sellers should use our automated online confirmation process. Sellers will be able to see the service fee and taxes on our fees before completing the sell process and committing to sell their tickets. Sellers have forty-eight (48) hours from the time of sale of the tickets to “Report a Problem” if they are unable to deliver the exact tickets listed for sale. Sellers can “Report a Problem” using the “Report a Problem” link on the online confirmation page. In this case Sellers will be charged $20 per ticket (or the equivalent in their listing currency). This charge, of $20 per ticket, will be recouped by withholding payment for other sales, or by charging your Payment Method. If the Seller has neither Confirmed the Sale nor Reported a Problem within 48 hours, the order will become eligible for substitution by viagogo. If viagogo substitutes the ticket, it shall have the right to charge the Seller a replacement fee and other charges, as specified in Section 5.

2.9 a) Exception to Seller’s Obligation to Confirm. Sellers who commit to send tickets directly to viagogo are not required to confirm the order. Such sellers have no right to “Report a Problem” and the order is automatically confirmed immediately after the sale. If the listed ticket is not delivered, viagogo shall have the right to charge the Seller a replacement fee and other charges, as specified in Section 5.

Did you click on the report a problem button at all as detailed in the first paragraph above?
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
  • As I sold my tickets as a E ticket instant download (which Viagogo recommends) it means that I don't confirm the sale.
  • Another thing...

I have been taken screen shots of ticket prices from 30th Oct everyday, the longer Viagogo leave it only the more expensive tickets will be left.

Does anyone think i can argue with them on this and see if i can only pay the ticket price on the 30th Oct (the date which i was to let them know i didn't have the correct tickets) ?

Many thanks for all your comments
