They have 2 call centres, one in Leeds and one in Scotland. If you are struggling to understand a scottish accent every time you call, i suggest you get a hearing check. It's highly unlikely you get the same person each time.

First Direct's advertising team also seem to have gone downhill. They have recently rolled out an advertisement poster on London Underground and made a spelling mistake, so had to recall all of the posters.

The same attention to detail as with the mix of upper and lower case on their internet banking site that underwhelmed me last year.
