Kitchen Work

I have had a company who for the time being i will not mention, refit my Kitchen, Bathroom, Toilet, Windows and Doors however i have had lots of issues with them and their work.

Is anyone aware of a company who could come and assess the work and write a report for me on whether or not the work is good and if not what needs to be done to rectify the work?

Many Thanks all.

I am assuming you had Buildings Regulations and/or self certification in place for your works. However this is a side issue to your question.

Your requirement is for a Clerk Of Works. The HQ is at Peterborough so Google this, and there is a handbook listing all qualified Members throughout the country.

The report will come at a cost so get your contractor to rectify as much as you can before this involvement.

    Hope this helps.

Have you written to them outlining all of your grievances and asking them to rectify them, this should be your first approach.
    If still dissatisfied
Next step get quotes to rectify their work, most tradesmen should be able to advise you as to the standard of the original installers works, followed by a letter before action stating your claim.
If still no joy, court, getting a professional witness statement if necessary.
Following the recognised procedure will help you if you do need to go to court, you don't want them turning round an saying that you didn't give them the opportunity to rectify the problems.
