reopen claim

i put in a claim with Directline back in 2009. this was for damage to both our master bedroom and dinning room carpets. there offer was a fraction what it would cost to replace both carpets.

after about 18 months for arguing i gave up the will to live and stopped chasing them. rather foolish i know but at the time it wasn't a priority.

as the claim was never satisfied can i go back to them after all this time to reopen the case?

any advice welcome

thanks

  • Thanks Retrogamer.

i thought as much. LESSON LEARNT
  • In theory yes. However, if it is more than six years since the events giving rise to the complaint (the rejected claim) and more than three years since you ought to have realised you had grounds for complaint, they can reject it.

Six years ago it was 2009. So if you want to complain do it now.
