Hi all,
Step change submitted my DRO application for me on Monday, I haven't heard back yet whether it's been accepted or not ( nail biting times
they are confident but i'll feel better when i know for sure ) . Does anyone know typically how long this takes?
Today I have received a default letter? From one of my creditors Hitachi personal finance, my question is does this change anything? Do I need to do anything? Tell step change or anything? It looks like a pretty scary formal type letter different from the ususal chase letters i've been getting. I'm just concerned about doing nothing really while I wait to hear if my DRO has gone through.
Thanks for any help, much appreciated

No, don't panic. It's an official record of you breaking your credit agreement. I can't answer your other question about how long it takes, but it doesn't change anything with regards to your DRO.Not giving up

You should hear within a matter of days about your DRO, it's all down to how fast the insolvency service work.
The letter you have received is a standard default notice, which the creditor has a legal requirement to send to you, doesn't change anything, neither should you be worried about it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi
I’ve checked with one of our DRO intermediaries who said the Insolvency Service typically take a week to write to a client to confirm acceptance. They’ll inform the intermediary within 24 hours though so our intermediaries contact our clients to let them know.
I’m not sure what Stepchange’s policy is on that but if you contact them they may be able to give you an update.
