Recruitment presentation Brief - final interview

Options
Hi there,

next week Im going to have my final interview with a recruitment agency.
I really need this job, the company I was working for went into administration in July.

They asked me to do a presentation on What would my plan be for the first 6 months as a recruitment consultant.
1 - what would I like to achieve with any current clients
2 - what will I specifically do to develop business within this sector (Industrial) and explain my approach
3 - what challenges I foresee and how would I overcome them

I have to focus on the business development side with maximising opportunities with current clients
Securing business of new or lapsed clients

Many thanks for all your comments :-)

They will probably be looking at both content and presentation styles. So make sure your presentation shows that you are someone they would be happy to have presenting to clients - clear, prepared, to time, all that sort of thing.

Haha is this interview in Scotland by any chance? I'm a recruiter and I know our company ask very similar things to potential new starters. So I'll help with what we would want.

    1. You want to initially establish a rapport with the decision maker and build trust with the client. Get down there and visit the client face to face. After that work in developing relationships and expanding into other departments. Regular check ins. Being the person at the forefront of their minds whenever they recruit.

    2. To develop business would start with doing research on companies in the area that actively use agencies. This could be from job boards and deciphering which agencies companies are currently using. Then to compile a list of companies you want to target and face to face market them. Drop off company merchandise and try and get to speak to the decision maker whilst you're there, if you don't. Drop at the same time every week until you get names of who you need to speak to, business cards...keep plugging away. If you find out that the company has no intention of using them, canvass every few months but replace that company with a new one.

    3. Major challenges are: Other agencies, don't use agencies, cost
All about selling yourself and what YOU can do for the company. You can only do that by doing your research and knowing everything you can for them.
