why don't you put the money in a savings account and then faster payment out to a current account to pay your mortgage each month, you could use your Tesco or TSB one as the extra money wont stay in the account so you will still have the interest, maybe the Tesco internet saver 1.6% into your Tesco current account each month.
1.6%? I prefer 6% on my savings. HSBC, First Direct and M&S offer regular savings accounts at 6%.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p
