Getting a Line from BT for a New Property

(1) 0800 800 150 (2) 0330 1234 150 , (3) 0800 023 4427 , (4) 0800 023 2023 , (5) 0800 3333, (6) 0800 111 4567.
I am trying to get a phone line - just the line at this stage - installed in a new bungalow. I got the first number from BT's web page. Each one passed me to the next. When I say passed me I mean listened to my request and then advised me to ring the next number in my list.
Each time I had to listen to recordings giving options, select a choice from a menu , listen to some crap music and then wait and wait until I got to the head of the queue of calls.
The person who took the last call (6) did take note of my order and sent an email to me.
The promise in that email to tell me within 3 working days what is to happen has not been honoured.
They did however manage to take £65 from me in a few seconds.
:wall:
Forgotten but not gone.

  • What do you mean by take £65?

    From BT website:
How much does it cost to install a new BT phone line or reconnect an old one?

If you're getting a BT Broadband or TV package online, then we won't charge for installing or reconnecting your line.
If you're just ordering a BT phone package, you may have to pay a connection charge but we'll let you know when you order. There's a £50 fee for activating an existing line that's provided by BT or another provider. And it's £65 for installing a new line. (This is an online special offer as it's normally £130.)

How long has it been then?

Didn't the email give you contact details in case of any problems?
Have you tried to contact BT?
If you have, what have they said?
    If you didn't, why not?

What are you expecting from this forum?
If it's just a vent, that's fine - it's what (part of) this specific board is for.
But if you're expecting any action, it's not going to happen.
