Hi Or I'm so glad you managed to get your well deserved money back
I'm also doubtful user "OR" will be responding to your request almost fully a year since he last logged on to this site:

Goodness knows how we all managed to get through life's challenges before "stress" was invented.0

Hi Or I'm so glad you managed to get your well deserved money back international airlines have long been looking for loopholes to get away without paying unfortunately you would have thought Etihad would have learnt there lesson by now I have had a similar issue like you and was hoping you can help me would you happen to have Etihads legal team email so i can pass to my solicitor ?
Can your solicitor not get the address himself ?
Maybe try contacting the airline.0 -
I was happy about the excess luggage charges being reimbursed. The £250 stress/compensation would of been nice to "reward" for the inconvenience and their incompetence, considering the court ruled that I was incorrectly advised by etihad and they were essentially in the wrong. I understand now that this was wishful thinking.
Ant2020: Depending on the situation of your claim, I don't know if its worthwhile paying for a solicitor. I would try the following first
1) Email etihad with your complaint at feedback@etihad.ae
2) If the desired outcome is not reached appeal the case decision. If the appeal fails don't waste your time emailing them anymore as it wont accomplish anything
3) Email passengercomplaints@caa.co.uk with details of your complaint. If they believe you have a genuine complaint they will contact Etihad to appeal
4) Etihad will still probably reject the appeal, the CAA should inform you of any options available to take the claim further
As i stated previously the CAA don't impose any ombudsman powers however their email stating that I had a genuine complaint really helped in court as part of my evidence.
A solicitor may be able to argue for more money to be paid to you, but a solicitors time costs money. Is it worth it? Especially if the case is lost, your further out of pocket having to pay Solicitors, court fees & etihads legal costs.
It was a gamble I took by taking them to court and representing myself. If I lost at least there was no solicitors fees to pay.
If you do decide to represent yourself you need to be organised. I had a binder with all email correspondence, images and other evidence clearly labelled. Key information/dates/figures highlighted. When you need to respond to a question you don't want to be sorting through pages for emails getting lost in paperwork.1 -

If its small claims (which it usually is for claims under £10,000), its incredibly rare to have legal costs awarded. Generally these costs would not be recoverable - even if you win - and it would be for each party to pay their own legal costs. You keep using that word.
