A big thanks to all of you who replied.Hubby and I have gone through all the leads we have and we don't have the right ones.So I have moved our cd/cassette player upstairs where I have my desktop and all the cassettes to go through them all each time I am up here and make a list of all the songs I REALLY want!

Then if I still decide to go ahead I need to look for something simple.Like droopsnoot says,i may run out of patience long before I get through them all!!I have well over 100. Hubby is looking to get a new I pod and will give his old one to me so I could just get the ones I really want on iTunes, and transfer them.It is time, pure and simple. But if I find something that is easy to use I will copy them over then I can do away them.A lot were recorded from the radio and are probably not even on iTunes.I don't know.

If we do get the long and bitter winter they are warning us about it will give me time then!

Thanks again, you have all been very helpful.
  • That presumes that what is on the OP's cassettes is official product that appears on Spotify.

Fair point. I have some 'live in concerts' I snagged by recording DAB radio via USB that the BBC never licensed commercially.

It's a lot of work for individual songs; the ones I copied across were mix shows taped off the radio where I was copying the whole thing in one go as a single recording.

Have a look on youtube. Plenty of really obscure stuff there and there are ways and means of downloading audio.
