    If they were not your fault why have you lost your no claims?

    Comparison sites and then the companies not on the comparison sites. With claims and zero no claims its going to be expensive.

  • i was with tesco bank car insurance they informed me that even though it wasnt my fault it still goes down to loosing my no claims
  • You need to speak with whoever you were insured with at the time to ask why NCD has not been allowed and if they can reinstate any NCD

    Was there a third party involved?

    (You should only lose your NCD when you make a claim and there is no third party to reimburse your insurer)

    Assuming there was a liable third party, then Tesco may have not yet received their reimbursement from the third party. If that is the case then it is normal, and you could explain the circs to your chosen new insurer and see if they will amend your premium if your NCD is reinstated.

    (But if there is no third party to pay then you do normally lose your NCD even though you were blameless)

    NCD = no claims discount

    it is not about fault, it's about claims.
    I am guessing you have claimed off your own insurer and they haven't yet got the money back so it's still outstanding as a claim(s).
    Have you chased up both to see what's happening?

    Yes

    If there is no dispute over liability them contact your insurer and ask them to close off the claim (assuming they haven't had any cost) and reinstate your NCD

    But if there is a dispute over liability and the other side are making a claim against you then you are stuck with this till the liability is settled
