Absolutely! We retired with no debt and owning our house (it was a massive struggle at times but thankfully we did it) and our outgoings are low. We have enough left over from each months pension to enjoy ourselves and indulge the grandchildren, if we were paying rent we would be in diffs. As it is, we've no worries about whether to eat or heat, and we're enjoying life. I would encourage everyone to buy their house, best thing we ever did!Likewise i would rather be going in to my retirement years owning a house than having to rent.0
