Hi,
I phoned Lloyds tsb to ask if I had ppi attached to an old loan and credit card I had a while back. They told me there was no PPI attached? do they ever lie to make you drop the case?

ok, thanks, so should I just submit the complaint form regardless as if there was ppi?0

Do you have any paperwork, can you recall it being on credit card statements?0

hi tom, no I've got no paper work for the loan (I just know account number) and I do have a statement for the credit card although I've never read through the smallprint to check for ppi related text.
I was thinking if I fill in the questionnaires provided on here and sent then off the worst they could say is no? although I would obviously not have a figure to put on the form.0 -
credit card PPi was on every card statement where you didn't pay off the balance in full every month as it increased the balance, you just need to look at the statement to see - it is listed as a separate item, not hidden
If you complain about having PPI miss-sold on loan and CC without knowing if you had it, you just look like a chancer and destroy all your credibility if they do find a policy on one productSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

The reality is that banks are large organisations and it is not possible for everybody working their to know exactly what happened in every subsidiary, so mistakes can, and do, occur.
However, as Nasqueron says, PPI on a credit card will appear on statements.
Details of an old loan may be archived and not available to a call centre but, as Nasqueron says, it is also quite possible that it never existed in the first place.0 -

What exactly are you going to complain about? You do know that you are in effect complaining that you were missold PPI, despite already having been told you have never bought any? It's not like you can exactly say you were told XYZ at the point of sale as you clearly weren't.
If you're desperate for money might I suggest looking for a better job or working some overtime rather than wasting the time of a company whose only offence is to lend you some money you asked for and those who have genuine grounds for complaint!!!0 -

I've only got recent statements (I keep receiving them as im 11 pence in positive balance) and have lost all previous statements where I was actually paying into the account. I have sent a letter and enclosed £10 to get all information regarding my accounts so hopefully I will find something in my statements.
Yeah I totally get what you mean about looking like a chancer. Im totally fine if I havnt payed any ppi but was just a little worried theyd lie to you so id drop it.
thanks nasqueronInsider101 wrote: »What exactly are you going to complain about? I was talking about sending off a reclaim form as I was worried they'd not been honest about there being no ppi. they can only say no.
And no offence but I wouldn't lose too much sleep if it ended up wasting an hour of the companies time who have wrongfully sold millions of ££££'s to thousands of people lol.
And not that's its any of your business but I have a good job in the oil industry and work months on end at 84 hours per week, you don't know me so don't say such presumptuous things and try to be less rude.0 -

I don't suppose it would, im just asking to see what you guys would think, maybe theyd get away with lying less on paperwork as opposed to saying something over the phone. I know I have been told so many lies over the phone by Lloyds tsb but none via the written letter. nevermind it was worth asking you guys I suppose
The £10 was for a list of transactions and charges for a current account too - I was repeatedly charged £20-£35 for going into an unplanned overdraft by a quid or two when I had financial difficulty a number of years back.0
