I bought a used Honda Civic yesterday, which I am planning to collect from the local Honda garage today. They have asked me if I want to buy this product for £299. Does anyone have experience with it? Is it worth it?

I am told I get a guarantee.

    ^^^ What he said.

If you do want to protect your paintwork and fabric then you can buy the materials very easily and do it yourself. Or even pay a professional valet company to do the job for you, it'll be way less than 300 quid.
  • for the fabric, search scotchguard on amazon...we were quoted £200 extra for doing a new 3 piece suite, 2 tins of this, all done in an hour and its brilliant, even spilled coffee comes straight out.

The Diamond Bright guarantee depends on you washing the car regularly & "conditioning" it regularly between washes.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I have applied the stuff many times, it's no harder than polishing a car.

It is not worth £300. You can buy the kits online for less than £30.

Is there any need for three separate threads for the same car purchase?

    I've had it,waste of £299

Could have bought the Autoglym stuff myself and saved £250.
It is basically awash and polish on the exterior and Scotchguard on the interior which you can do yourself.

I also later found out the valleter who did the job for the dealer and he charges £99 to do exactly the same, cutting out the middleman.

Fair enough. I just thought it would be easier for others to find the thread if they do a Google search i.e. one thread for each question.
  • I've got this on my car. I didn't really want it but but I took it in exchange for an off-setting reduction on the price (presumably so the salesman would get his commission). Anyway, as far as I can tell it doesn't do anything. My car still gets dirty and it takes the usual amount of effort to clean it. Polishing it still makes a difference even though I was told I wouldn't need to polish the car.

Don't bother with it if they want you to pay.
