My 22 year old son (unemployed at present) wants to do a full time circus skills course either in Bristol or London. I haven't a clue how or where to start looking for grants for the fees and accomodation etc. Can anyone help, thanks

What sort of course is it? Is 'circus skills' a proper Higher Education course at a University? They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0

Start with the institutions. Give them a call and ask to speak to a student advisor.0 -
Check your local library (or even better - get your son to do it). Any large reference library should have the Educational Grants Directory and Directory of Grant-Making Trusts which will give some ideas. It's unlikely your going to get much funding from one source but you never know - the maybe a local fuding source for jugglers from your town (it sounds daft but there are a lot of grants out there for ex-pupils of a particular school or residents of a town studying a particular course or whatever. They'll also be able to help you with the actual courses if www.hotcourses.co.uk and www.floodlight.co.uk don't have what you want.0

The one he wants is called Circus space In London its a degree course. He's phoned them and they are sending course details. DSES and Aim Higher are two places he's been told to contact for grants and student loans.0
